The Adam Practice was established in 1946 by Dr Wilson Adam who set up a surgery in Hamworthy. The practice is now a partnership of 16 GP’s. We have around 36,000 patients and 4 surgeries located in Hamworthy, Poole, Lytchett Matravers & Upton.

We have a strong commitment as a large training practice for Trainee Doctors, Nurses, and overseas students. We employ approx. 190 staff made up of Patient Services Clerks, Medical Secretaries, Salaried GP’s and an extensive supporting team of Pharmacists, ANP’s, Specialist LTC Nurses, Treatment Room Nurses, Nursing Assistants and Healthcare Assistants, all led by a Queens Nurse. A multi-disciplinary Management Team support both the Practice and the Poole Central PCN Network, for which we are the Lead Practice.

We have one of the leading Primary Care research departments in England led by a dedicated Research GP Partner and a team of Nurses, Clinical Trials Assistants and Administration.

We also work closely with Health Visitors, District Nurses, Community Midwives, Chiropodist and Physiotherapists.

The Practice is part of Poole Central PCN Network, which is a network of 6 practices who provide primary care for around 66,000 patients. The network employs staff and delivers services across the member practices. Our Enhanced Care Team is made up of Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Paramedics and Administration team.

Main services we provide are General medical services, Paediatrics, Vasectomy, Podiatry, Minor Surgery, Phlebotomy, Complex Leg Ulcers, Travel Vaccinations.

Our surgeries are located to the west of Poole, in an area of outstanding natural beauty with the award-winning Jurassic coastline and New Forest nearby.
