Are you suffering from a Viral-type illness with symptoms such as headaches, coughs, a sore throat and/or fever? Here is some advice before contacting us…

We understand that many people feel unwell at this time of year with symptoms relating to viral illnesses such as colds and Flu, with symptoms ranging from sore throats, headaches, runny noses, high fevers and coughs.

Usually these symptoms start to improve after 3-5 days. During this time it is important to rest and keep hydrated. Some symptoms will continue up to 3 weeks such as a mild cough and fatigue.

We are increasingly seeing patients contact us for common viral illnesses. Please consider the above before contacting us for mild or short-lived symptoms. If your symptoms do not improve after 3-5 days or deteriorate significantly, such as you are increasingly short of breath, then please complete a Klink form or call NHS 111 for advice.

More information on when to seek help and how to self treat your symptoms can be found at: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/respiratory-tract-infection

Your local pharmacist will also be able to help with advice and treatment for common viral illnesses.
