You can now self-refer to a local Pharmacy for advice and treatment for many common health conditions, without needing to see a GP first.
Pharmacies can give advice and treatment for common conditions including hayfever, conjunctivitis, skin problems, stomach illnesses, Contraception, coughs and cold, rashes and many more.
Pharmacy First
Since mid-2024 Pharmacies were given special training to examine and treat 7 additional conditions, which are:

Acute otitis media* | 1 to 17 years |
Impetigo | 1 year and over |
Infected insect bites | 1 year and over |
Shingles | 18 years and over |
Sinusitis | 12 years and over |
Sore throat | 5 years and over |
Uncomplicated urinary tract infections | Women 16-64 years |
After we receive and review your health form, our clinical triage team may also refer your case to a local pharmacy for them to contact you to book a consultation.
