Key Information:

  • Low Risk, High Opportunity: While your cholesterol is slightly elevated, your overall risk of serious issues (like heart attack or stroke) is currently low. This means we do not need to prescribe medication at this stage.
  • Dietary Swaps: Focus on reducing saturated fats (fatty meats, butter, cakes) and replacing them with lean proteins, oily fish, nuts, and olive oil. Increasing your fibre intake (oats, beans, lentils) is also a powerful tool.
  • Movement: Aim for 30 minutes of moderate activity, such as a brisk walk that gets you breathing a bit faster, five times a week.
  • Lifestyle Factors: Cutting back on alcohol and stopping smoking are two of the most effective ways to support your liver and heart health.

What Happens Next?

Because your risk is low, our plan is to monitor your condition rather than medicate immediately.

We intend to recheck your cholesterol levels in a few months to see how these lifestyle changes have improved your numbers.

If you have any concerns you would like to discuss, please contact us through our online service.
