Step 1: The Emollient (The Foundation)
This is your medical moisturiser. Think of it as giving your skin a drink of water and a protective raincoat.
Step 2: The Active Treatment (The Repair Team)
This is the cream or ointment containing the medicine (often a steroid or Vitamin D). It is the “specialist repair team” doing the heavy lifting.
The Golden Rule: The 30-Minute Gap
This is the most important part of the routine.
Why?: Waiting stops the active medicine from being diluted by the moisturiser and makes sure it works properly.
Be patient and consistent. It can often take several weeks to see an improvement. But, if the treatment irritates your skin, or you do not see improvement after the timeframe discussed in your appointment, please let us know.
