March 12th – Pharmacy Referrals & Consultations

Community pharmacies are now able to provide consultations and medications to anyone presenting with the following conditions:

  • sinusitis
  • sore throat
  • acute otitis media
  • infected insect bite
  • impetigo
  • shingles
  • uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.

Anyone persons with the above can self present at a pharmacy, however as a practice we may also refer you to your local pharmacy, if we feel it is appropriate. In these cases, our Klinik triage team will complete the referral and text you asking you to go straight to your preferred pharmacy as stated on your record.

This new service benefits patients by providing a guaranteed face to face appointment at a pharmacy, where medication can also be prescribed and obtained all in one visit.
