In the past, you may have needed to wait until 8am to call the practice or complete long, static online forms. The new system is designed to make contacting us quicker and more convenient.
Instead of asking a long list of general questions, it works as a chat and adapts to your answers in real time.
If your symptoms mean you need to be seen by a clinician, the system allows you to choose your time and schedule your appointment there on the screen.
Human clinicians at The Adam Practice continue to oversee your care while the system gathers the information we need.
The system is designed to spot urgent warning signs. If your symptoms are urgent, your request can be moved to the front of the queue rather than following the normal wait.
The new system has the highest level of NHS approval and keeps your medical data secure.
Human clinicians at The Adam Practice remain responsible for overseeing your care.
The system can automatically translate into more than seventeen different languages, so you can explain your symptoms in the language that is most comfortable for you.
Yes. Our phone lines and reception desk remain fully open for people who cannot use the internet or prefer to contact us another way.
As more routine requests are handled online, this should also help reduce phone queues for patients who still need to call.
To begin with, the new triage service will mirror our opening hours of 8am until 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
In future, we hope to keep the system available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so you can complete a health form when it is convenient for you. We will let you know when this becomes active.
The online system is not a replacement for emergency care. If you have a life-threatening medical emergency, dial 999 or visit A&E.
