Invitations are currently being sent out to our eligible patient groups. Use the online booking link in your text or email invite. Remember to use the dropdown menu to change the site and choose a date and time.
You attend alongside a small number of other patients with similar health needs. You still have time with a healthcare professional, but the longer session gives more room for questions and discussion than a short appointment on your own.
Your clinician can explain your condition, your treatment and what might help. Other patients can also share what they have found difficult, what has helped and what has worked for them in everyday life.
Other people in the group are not simply there because several appointments are happening at the same time. Their questions and experiences can be part of what makes the clinic useful.
Someone living with the same condition may describe a problem you recognise or share an approach that made a change feel more possible.
No. Your own results, treatment and concerns still matter, and the clinician still considers what is happening for you individually.
You do not have to talk about private things in front of the group. You choose what you share, and everyone attending is asked to respect the confidentiality of the other people in the room.
The Adam Practice is starting to use group clinics more widely for some long-term-condition reviews, including diabetes, asthma and COPD.
This does not mean every review needs to happen in a group. Individual appointments will still be available where they are needed.
If the practice thinks a group clinic may be suitable for your care, you may receive an invitation. You will be given more information about your particular clinic and what to expect.
